If you check the performance of your website on
you will most probably see that it says something like, Minify CSS, Minify HTML etc.
It is frustrating. At times Google’s own service (PageSpeed) says that you need to fix Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (which are another widely used Google Tools.)
Now there are ways to do so. One is by adding code in .htaccess file (Which is accessed by logging into your Web Hosting provider, Going to File Manager and there locating a file named .htaccess and then editing it i.e adding additional code to it.)
However here we will be doing so with a plugin.
For a beginner using the above method might be troublesome or even break the site.
1- Install and Activate WP FASTEST CACHE plugin.
2- Now change the settings like the picture below.
Additionally you may / should download plugins like,
Autoptimize (read all about it here)
WP Super Cache
You may use only one of these plugins or use two or even use all three.
Just know that if you delete any other plugin or make changes you might / will have to clear cache from all the above mentioned plugins. Else your site might not load properly. (It will show texts and pictures in weird way.)
We recommend using two at a time. (WP FASTEST CACHE and AUTOPTIMIZE)
Do Note- PageSpeed numbers are highly strange for a beginner. Even after following all the above steps the PageSpeed might still say to optimize these. Do not worry your site will be fast for sure.
Also, at times page speed numbers are different if you use http and https. Strange!
